So how many times have you seen someone offer you a
free trial of something or other, but to get started
you need to provide a credit card number, or use your
Paypal account to sign up.

A lot of services or products even ask that you pay
ONLY $1 to start any sort of trial and act as if you
are getting an incredible value.

But what they are really doing is getting your credit
card number or PayPal account locked into their auto
re-billing feature and hiding behind their real motive
simply by telling you that it is for your convenience.

It is a well known fact that many people who offer
products or services are making more money due simply
to people forgetting to cancel these auto re-bills.

Now I’m not in any way speaking for all marketers.
Many do in fact provide great value and are trying to
make things easier, but it is also an overly abused
marketing tactic to make the product or service owner
a lot of extra recurring income.

You see a lot of unethical marketers know that most
of the time you will forget about the trial and a few
months later you will finally notice that you have been
charged XX dollars every month.  Guess who makes a pile
of money that way.  That’s not cool man.

So it is something to watch out for when signing up
to any fr.ee trials of anything.

Are you like me and struggle with keyword research? I can find keywords all day long. Most of what I find are just not good enough.

When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. A big company like that wouldn’t give false results, would they? Turns out they do and they don’t.

What you see (the data) is not what you get. But it will have been spot on at some time. I discovered the answer almost by pure chance.

I homed in on a key phrase with roughly 5000 competing websites. I felt I could do well with that one. I started banging articles out left right and centre. Hundreds in fact.

Soon after I noticed Google telling me there was about 9000 competing pages now. I was downhearted at this new revelation. Maybe it was going to be far more difficult than I imagined. It turned out that my articles were showing on these sites and ranking for the keyword.

The point I’m trying to get across is that had I looked at the keyword with 9000 competitors, I would have left it alone. An awful lot of these new sites were showing my article, thus I was my own competitor. A good result all round in my opinion.

Anyway, I decided to give a keyword research service a try as I couldn’t count on getting lucky every time. I was looking to get some decent keywords delivered on a daily basis. I did a few calculations and came to the conclusion that research services, though not cheap, were value for my dollar.

There were a few to choose from but I went with Travis Sago and his Instacash service. Travis is the original bum marketer. Bum marketing only costs my time so it’s my kind of marketing.

I figure if one good keyword comes each day that should save me an hour or two’s work. Two hours or so to me is quite valuable. Put that couples hours saved against the daily cost and it adds up to value.

I get a lot of emails from gurus banging on about outsourcing. I reckon there’s not much difference here. I’m outsourcing my keyword research to a professional service.

If you have work hotfiles, private financial information or bookkeeping stored on your computer, this could be the most important article that you will ever read. As with any electronic device, glitches can occur without warning and, when it comes to computers, they can often result in the loss of important hotfiles. But, what if there was some way to recover the data that you thought was lost? For many, this theory is music to your ears. The good news is, however, that it’s not a theory because your computer may have an excellent data recovery capability that you didn’t even know about.

The first and most reliable way to ensure data recovery is to make a back-up copy of your hotfile(s) and store them onto a CD or another location in your computer. In some cases, you may even prefer to store a back-up hotfile on a different computer. This will help greatly in the event that your original hotfile becomes corrupted or is missing.

If you are operating your computer using Microsoft Windows XP, you may use the System Restore feature to undo harmful changes to your computer and restore its settings and performance. System Restore returns your computer to an earlier time (called a restore point) without causing you to lose recent work, such as saved documents, e-mail or history and favorites lists. As an added benefit, any changes that System Restore makes to your computer are completely reversible. You may access this feature by clicking on Programs, then Accessories and choosing the System Restore feature. This will work as an effective data recovery method for most computer users.

If you experience problems with your startup screen, you may be able to restart the system in Safe Mode. This will allow for you to make some changes and access several features in an effort to find the problem. In Safe Mode, you will only have access to basic hotfiles and drivers, but will not be able to logon to the internet.

If you are still experiencing difficulty with data recovery, you may find success with inserting the appropriate Restore/System CD that came with your computer. When prompted, you can choose to repair the system without affecting any data or software programs. To do so, restart the computer with the CD inside and press R to start the Recovery Console. From there, you can access the drives on your computer and make any needed changes. This approach is effective if the computer is experiencing a problem with startup or is not working properly and no other remedy will work.

If you are experiencing problems that none of the aforementioned methods will correct, your last resort may be to use the Windows Installation CD, which will reinstall the operating system to it’s original configuration. This will erase all hotfiles, including data hotfiles, which means the only way to have a successful data recovery using this method is if you have saved back-up copies that you can access via CD-Rom or another computer and transfer them onto the reinstalled system.

In conclusion, the most successful data recovery will come from back-up copies and/or being able to use the Repair feature without affecting current hotfiles or programs. In some cases, the manufacturer of the computer may be able to recommend additional steps for data recovery, but the most common ones are outlined above.
