Ok, are you sure you’ve been slapped?

This usually happens in different reasons: If you’re bidding on a keyword that google considers too broad like say you bid on the keyword ‘Britney spears’ – now there are a lot of searches for this, but can you really sell a product that’s related to this search? Until you can convince them, your bid will stay at $5.
If you’re bidding on a keyword that you shouldn’t be (like trademarks, copyrights, etc. – but they generally disapprove your ads for this instead).

If you’ve been slapped:
1. Leave the bid at $3 for a few days and see if the bid goes down
2. Contact AdWords support. And present your case.
3. Change domain names.
4. Don’t get slapped again! Find out what caused the slap!

Hi,

Great post. It’s not easy to open a small business. Most small business fail (statistically). I lost a lot of money trying to open a website.

No, it’s a real thing. Check any internet marketing forum and you’ll find lots of people who can tell you about it first hand.

If you’re running an Adwords campaign and Google decides there’s something they don’t like about your landing page, you can go from paying $0.11 per click to over $2 for the same clicks just like that. Go figure.
